The Institute of Advanced Legal Studies Library has a central role in legal research provision in the UK and houses collections of national and international importance. The Library serves academic and professional lawyers and postgraduate law students in London, the UK and internationally.
A dynamic Document Supply Services Supervisor is required to manage the Subscription Information Services, including the popular Document Supply Services, delivered by the Institute Library. This post offers the exciting opportunity to develop these quality commercial services to the benefit of the Institute and legal practitioners alike.
The Library runs a commercial subscription information service answering reference enquiries and providing copyright cleared copies of documents to legal practitioners and other commercial users as a paid service.
Applicants should be of graduate calibre with a library/information qualification or equivalent experience. They should be able to demonstrate effective communication skills and proven IT skills, including practical experience with using Excel and Microsoft Access databases.
The successful candidate will have experience of successfully supervising a team, and providing a high quality service which is committed to fulfilling client needs. The ability to liaise effectively with clients in legal practice is essential.
Experience of working with legal materials, particularly legal reference work, and the ability to develop a client-orientated marketing strategy are desirable. Knowledge of one or more foreign languages would be an advantage.
