The Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS)

The Institute of Advanced Legal Studies is a postgraduate research institute established in 1947 in the University of London as a national and international centre for the promotion and facilitation of advanced legal studies.

The Institute represents a major national commitment to the support of legal research. It plays an important part in legal scholarship through academic promotion, facilitation and co-ordination by means of programmes of research projects, workshops, study groups, fellowships, and postgraduate seminars and lectures.

The Role

The post holder will report to the Institute Director and will be responsible for records management, both paper and digital within the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies.

You will ensure records are available to researchers and IALS staff and play a pivotal role in records management projects. You will also advise IALS staff of records management best practice, and collate and review records usage statistics.

We are looking for a highly organised self-starter with the ability to build strong relationships. The successful candidate will have experience in records management within an academic environment. Previous experience or working knowledge of the legal industry is preferred.
