Department of Residential Services

Residential Services provides a one-stop service for students, assisting them to find housing either in University halls of residence, self-catered accommodation or in the private rented sector through registration schemes for landlords, letting agencies and a range of private housing providers. We provide a housing advice service to support students when they are searching for or living in private accommodation. We also offer a service that gives academic visitors, commercial guests and others the opportunity to live in University accommodation.​​​​​​​

The Role

Do you have a passion for helping others, sense of justice and an enthusiastic and innovative approach?

Apply for the role of Housing Advisor at the University of London and help support students and staff living in the private rented sector.

We are seeking an individual to provide legal advice, advocacy and guidance to students and staff who are looking for and living in private rented housing. 

To succeed in this role, you will have relevant experience of working with people in an advisory capacity and an up-to-date knowledge of housing legislation and case law relating to private rented housing. An understanding of the main housing issues that students face in the private rented housing sector is essential. 

You will have an enthusiastic and innovative approach, combined with tact, discretion and the ability to deal professionally and empathetically with a range of student clients, landlords and others in an often pressured working environment.

We welcome applications both from candidates with Higher Education housing experience and those  with alternative sector experience but who can demonstrate a willingness to learn combined with a passion for providing excellent support services to customers.
