Our IT and Digital Department are recruiting for a Principal Project Manager to lead a team with responsibility for delivery of the IT and Digital projects supporting the University’s strategic aims and objectives.

About the role

Reporting to the Associate Director: Projects and Change, the Principal Project Manager is responsible for leading a team of Senior Project Managers, Project Managers and Project Officers responsible for the planning, management, coordination and financial control of IT and Digital projects. The successful candidate will ensure that the project management team is effectively lead and resourced to support the IT and Digital Portfolio, and that project management staff have the support and tools they need to deliver high quality outcomes.

This is a key project leadership position that provides leadership of the project management function and responsibility for the successful delivery of IT and Digital projects across the University.

About you 

Candidates must demonstrate significant experience of managing a team to deliver tangible business outcomes and positive change through IT and Digital projects. An effective leader, you have strong stakeholder management skills coupled with the ability to lead and inspire staff of varying levels of seniority. You will have experience of providing a team with the foundations for success, including fostering a skill-sharing environment and providing staff with the support and tools needed to successfully delivery projects. 

You will have strong communication skills with experience of developing highly engaging reports and visualisations of project and programme performance. In addition, you will have experience of leading large and technically complex projects at a senior level, with proven expertise in delivering benefits for your stakeholders.
