The Finance and Planning Department is seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join their team for a fixed term period of 6 months, in the first instance.
Reporting to the Associate Director Finance – Academic Departments, this position will work as a trusted Business Partner alongside management and operational staff, and budget holders, to support Academic activity across the University. Specifically, this role will lead on the provision of best practice financial advice, including efficient and effective financial management information, regular management reporting, in year forecasting and longer term planning. The Senior Management Accountant will also act as deputy for the Associate Director Finance as appropriate, manage the Management Accounts Assistants, and oversee the processing of transactions.
The successful person will be CCAB qualified and demonstrate experience and ability in financial planning, budgetary control systems, budget holder support and corporate financial reporting. With a good understanding of finance business partnering, you also have experience working in an environment of devolved budgets, where diverse responsibility centres interact with the Finance Division. You will be able to evidence strong team management skills and experience of developing teams to succeed in new areas. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships, and negotiate and influence others, will round off your profile.
