Housing Services is part of CoSector and provides a one-stop service for students, assisting them to find housing either in University halls of residence, self-catered accommodation or in the private rented sector through registration schemes for landlords, letting agencies and a range of private housing providers. We provide a housing advice service to support students and staff when they are searching for or living in private accommodation. We also offer a service that gives academic visitors, commercial guests and others the opportunity to live in University accommodation.
Student Homes was formed in 2012 and currently houses 272 students in 67 properties in a variety of locations throughout London, mainly in zones 1 -2. Properties are leased from private landlords and sub-let to UL 2nd/3rd year undergraduate and postgraduate students. Student Homes then manage the tenancies and act as the student’s landlord.
CoSector - University of London, formed in 2015 by bringing together three previously separate divisions within the central university, provides services that enrich learning and education for both students and providers of the learning experience, as well as non-education sector clients. We provide market-leading products and services in digital, IT infrastructures, graduate careers and employability, and housing.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to carry out the day to day management for designated properties from the Student Homes accommodation portfolio adhering to all relevant procedures, legislation, codes of practice and budget.
The successful candidate will provide an efficient, effective and customer-focused service to student tenants, Colleges, property owners, their agents and all other stakeholders. Duties will include conducting routine property inspections, ensuring all relevant health and safety and fire regulations are adhered to, and dealing with student tenants, property owners and college representatives when disputes arise.
To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrable experience of the day-to-day management of an accommodation portfolio, preferably complemented by experience of working in a student accommodation setting. You have will a sound understanding of the housing market, property maintenance, housing legislation and the requirements of students and experience of delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
You will combine an enthusiastic approach with tact, discretion and the ability to deal professionally with a range of clients. A genuine interest in the needs of students and the ability to remain calm in a crisis is a must.
