The Warburg Institute, in the University of London’s School of Advanced Study, is now recruiting a Lecturer in Cultural and Intellectual History (full-time, fixed term) to teach on its MA programmes, advise MA students, and supervise MA dissertations.

The Role
The Warburg Institute is seeking a Lecturer in Cultural and Intellectual History (full-time, fixed term) to teach on its MA programmes, advise MA students, and supervise MA dissertations.
The successful candidate will have experience of academic research in an area relevant to the Warburg Institute, experience of university teaching (preferably at MA level), and a demonstrable ability to design MA-level modules. Preference may be given to candidates with prior experience of MA supervision.
In the Spring Term, the post-holder will convene the MA compulsory unassessed module ‘Methods and Techniques of Scholarship’ and teach an option module of their own choice on a topic related to Renaissance intellectual history. In the Summer Term, the post-holder will supervise MA dissertations. In the Autumn Term, the post-holder will convene the MA compulsory unassessed module ‘Methods and Techniques of Scholarship’ and teach on the team-taught core module ‘Reviving the Past’. Throughout the year, the post-holder will also undertake marking as required, attend relevant meetings, contribute to recruitment activities, and mentor MA advisees.
Remuneration will be at Level 7 or 8 of the University of London’s pay scale.
The contract runs from 4 January 2023 – 3 January 2024 with the pay spread across the period in equal monthly amounts.
