The Role

An exciting opportunity is presented within the ITDS Department. The post holder will lead and manage a team of technical personnel responsible for supporting and developing the University’s portfolio of professional services applications , ensuring they are optimized and developed to align to the University’s goals.

Reporting to the Associate Director IT Service Operations, this is a technical team manager role with responsibility for the development and day-to-day operations and developing systems and staff within this area:

  • Proactively mentoring and supporting team members to develop the requisite skills and capabilities required to meet the ever-changing technologies.
  • Providing technical leadership for the development and support of Applications.
  • Building and maintaining supplier and stakeholder relationships.
  • Leading on the improvement and development plans.
  • Leading on the IT Service Management elements of the services.
  • Overseeing the supplier SLAs and leading on service review meetings.
  • Participating in the 24x7 ITDS Out of Hours Rota.

The successful candidate must have experience working within a busy IT environment. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure, troubleshoot issues quickly and diffuse conflict situations.

The ideal candidate will work to industry best practices and ITIL aligned service delivery.
