The University of London Finance Department is seeking three Management Accountants to join the department’s Corporate and Academic Finance Teams on a full-time open-ended basis.
The Role:
These three roles will play a vital role in providing support to the Senior Business Partners by managing the month end, quarterly and year-end processes for their areas of responsibility. The posts will actively contribute to improving the quality and depth of financial management information available.
The main responsibilities for this role include: the preparation of the annual budget, monthly management accounts and quarterly forecasts; assisting in the preparation of business cases for potential investments; taking responsibility for the preparation of year-end schedules and administering and resolving year-end audit questions.
The successful post holders will be providing advice and support to budget holders and non-financial managers and will assist them with their budgets management and forecasting.
To succeed in this role, you will have at least two years previous experience of working within management accounting. You will also have a good knowledge of accounting standards and of accountancy in general (exposure to the receivable, payable and general ledgers). Knowledge and experience of Higher Education and its particular requirements would be an advantage but is by no means essential. You will also have demonstrable experience of using enterprise level financial software and manipulating data to produce insightful information and reports.
You will have strong organisational and administrative skills along with the demonstrable ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines and work pro-actively with a high level of initiative as a key part of a self-managing team. You will be able to manage and develop your direct report.
