The Role


Programme Manager – International Foundation Programme


The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is an online programme comprised of 4 modules that provide the foundational learning to enable progression onto an undergraduate degree. The IFP features 15 elective modules in a variety of subjects. The post-holder will support the programme and it’s students through the following activities.


1) Operational Support for the ‘Live’ Programme

a)  Supporting the Programme Director in staff/tutor recruitment, contracts, arranging payments, and coordinating dates for training. You will also be responsible for ensuring that each teaching session is sufficiently staffed.

b)  Managing financial tasks for the cost centre including: raising purchase orders; setting up new suppliers; goods receipting; maintaining budget spreadsheets.

c)  Working on module evaluation implementation, data gathering and analysis.

d)  Providing administrative support to the Programme Director and Module Leaders involving assessment setting coordination (agreeing dates for meetings, receipt of questions, formatting UoL template); distributing papers; booking rooms.

e)  Supporting the marketing activity for the programme including working to keep marketing collateral up-to-date.

f)  Managing small events including: managing publicity; handling enquiries and bookings; coordinating venue hire and catering requirements.


2). Programme Review and Enhancement

a)   Annual programme and planning review (APPR) involving: liaising with the Academic Service Manager to contribute to APPRs, liaising with the Programme Director for actions arising from APPR, including any changes affecting module syllabi. 

b)  Servicing programmes’ governance processes including Steering Groups and/or Programme Boards.

c)  Managing pre- and post-course student surveys; consolidating survey results, extracting and analysing survey data after each session and producing course evaluation reports.

d)  Supporting the Programme Director(s) in liaisons with professional and/or accreditation bodies; and preparation of any relevant documentation.

3). Programme Development (Pre-launch)

a)  Supporting the Programme Director(s) in liaising with Subject Matter Experts and the design and production teams.

b)  Providing up-to-date information on the programme design and structure to stakeholders at UoL and in the partner organisation.

c)  Liaising with the Programme Director(s) and UoL Marketing colleagues to develop marketing collateral.

d) Handover from the Academic Project Management teams: walk-throughs, briefings, learning and implementing relevant processes.

4) Cross-programme support

a) Work collaboratively with other Programme Managers and Senior Programme Officers who provide day-to-day and seasonal support across our portfolio of programmes as needed.

b) knowledge transfer to Programme Administrators based in the member institutions who support the new generation of programmes.


5) General

  1. To work across a variety of programmes over time as capacity and business need dictate.


  1. To work across teams and functions within and beyond the directorate on occasions as required by the business needs of the organisation.


  1. Any other duties consistent with both the grade and scope of the post


  1. Any other duties reasonably required of the postholder by the reporting manager
