The Role

Lecturer in Art History 1300-1700 at the Warburg Institute

The Warburg Institute is seeking to appoint a lecturer in Art History in the period 1300-1700. The post-holder will serve as the convenor of the Master’s degree in Art History, Curating and Renaissance Culture and will contribute to the Institute’s taught programmes. In particular, they will convene the module ‘Image to Action: Art History and Renaissance Culture’ and will co-convene the ‘Curating at the National Gallery’ module, in collaboration with gallery staff. They will teach an option module relating to their own area of academic expertise and they will supervise and mark MA dissertations. In addition, the post-holder will contribute to the supervision of PhD students whose work falls within their area of expertise.

Applicants will hold a PhD in Art history on a topic relating to the period 1300-1700 and will have experience of teaching and assessing relevant materials. They will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and will be able to work collaboratively with staff at Warburg Institute and its partner institutions.

This position is a fixed-term, 12-month maternity leave cover.
