Job Description

The University of London

The University of London is one of the largest and most diverse higher education institutions in the world. With a mission to transform lives through knowledge, it delivers high quality academic programmes, brings benefits to society through its research in the humanities and social sciences, and leverages intellectual connections through public engagement.

The Role

The University of London is a leading provider of online, distance learning. In 1858, we made our degrees available to study anywhere in the world. Today, we have more than 45,000 students in over 190 countries, studying on 100+ degrees, diplomas and certificates.

The University of London Worldwide is responsible for the design, development and delivery of our distance learning programmes and is seeking to appoint a permanent Product Innovation Manager to join the newly created Product Innovation team (part of the Online Education Directorate).

You will be excited by new innovations in online education and be interested in developing further your knowledge of new educational technologies, both current and frontier. You will have an enquiring mind and be keen to consider and explore how new tools and technology can be best used to enhance the student experience and improve programme performance.

Alongside this passion however, you will also be able to balance the commercial and practical elements of these ideas, especially in terms of scalability, operational suitability and their applicability to multiple and international audiences.

A charismatic communicator, who is able to establish good relationships quickly, you will support the Senior Product Innovation Managers and the Associate Director: Product Innovation by liaising with operational and academic teams to scope out initial thoughts and feasibility.

Drawing together these elements, you will work with the team to draft up early stage ideas and concepts and help set up pilot initiatives to test and measure benefits.

While much of your work will be in collaboration with other team members, you must also be able to work independently on smaller projects and be able to manage your time effectively to meet multiple deadlines.
