The School of Advanced Study
The School of Advanced Study (SAS), University of London, is a unique institution in UK higher education, being the only institution that is nationally funded to promote and facilitate research in the humanities. It performs a vital role as a driving force for knowledge sharing across the humanities in the UK and beyond, and receives special funding for this purpose from Research England.
The Role
The School of Advanced Study is seeking an experienced administrator, to help support academic projects and initiatives within three SAS Institutes: Classical Studies; English Studies; and Modern Languages Research. This is an exciting new post that will give the post-holder the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of academic activities in support of the Institutes’ disciplinary fields and to support interdisciplinary initiatives across the School, such as environmental humanities and projects working on equality, diversity and inclusion. Amongst other duties, the post-holder will provide support for the three Institutes’ fellowship schemes, research projects and internal and external communications as required.
The successful applicant will have excellent written and verbal skills and will be experienced in managing projects and working with a wide variety of people to achieve targeted outcomes. Experience working in an academic environment and an interest in the humanities would be an advantage.

This post is offered on a 12 months' fixed term basis in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal.
