The M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries is seeking a part-time Administrator to help organise its events, including the cpd25 staff training programme, on a fixed term basis for 1 year. The contract is renewable, subject to funding.
The M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries is a regional collaboration of libraries in London and the South East of England. It currently has 53 library members ranging from the big colleges of the University of London to smaller subject specialist collections. The member libraries are from various sectors, including university and museum. Geographically they are spread across the South East, with a large concentration in London. The M25 Consortium is committed to improving library services through collaboration. cpd25 is the M25 Consortium’s staff development and training programme, and holds about 40 training events and library visits every year. The M25 Consortium is based in the University of London's Senate House building.

The M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries is seeking an Administrator for its events and programmes on a part time, fixed term basis for 1 year. The contract is renewable, subject to funding.
To succeed in this role you will need to have previous experience of organising a series of events and providing administrative support, preferably to a range of stakeholders. You will be a confident, friendly communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and encourage their engagement in the M25's programmes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing his/her own schedule and will need to set priorities and manage workloads accordingly to meet multiple deadlines. You will be adept and confident at working independently with minimal supervision.
In coordinating the cpd25 programme of training events and library visits you will need to negotiate with external suppliers (e.g. of venues, catering and speakers) whilst staying within an agreed budget. Experience in sourcing new venues and negotiating favourable rates would be an advantage as you will be required to do this.
To support the administration of the programme you will need to both plan and service a range of meetings throughout the year with the different cpd25 task groups. The ability to take accurate and concise minutes is therefore important.
The successful candidate will be expected to work with Consortium staff, library directors and other library staff. The ability to communicate, using various media, with a range of stakeholders is crucial to success in this role.
